If you’re not sure whether it’s a dental emergency, call anyway. It’s always better to check.

How We Handle an Emergency Visit
Call us and tell us what’s going on. We’ll walk you through first aid if needed and figure out whether you should come in right away or schedule an appointment during regular business hours. When you come in for your appointment, we’ll take digital X-rays and do an exam to find the source of the problem. We’ll explain what we found, review your dental treatment options and costs, and provide pain relief the same day whenever possible. Treatment may include a filling, an emergency root canal, an emergency tooth extraction, or repairs to a denture or crown.
Handling a Knocked-Out Tooth or Severe Trauma
If a tooth gets knocked out, time matters. Rinse it gently but don’t scrub it. Try to place it back in the socket, or keep it in milk, and get to us within 30 minutes if you can. For a badly cracked or chipped tooth, avoid chewing on that side and call us as soon as possible because exposed nerve tissue can quickly lead to infection.

Cost and Insurance
Emergency treatment costs vary by situation, and we don’t charge extra for urgent care. Most dental insurance plans cover at least part of an emergency exam, X-rays, and basic treatment. We also offer in-house dental coverage and financing.
Common Questions
What does an emergency extraction typically cost?
It depends on the tooth’s position and whether you need a simple or surgical extraction. We’ll give you an estimate before treatment begins.
Will insurance help with emergency dental care?
Most plans cover at least part of the exam, X-rays, and basic treatment. We’ll check your benefits and let you know what you may need to pay out of pocket.

How do I know if it’s actually urgent?
Sharp or throbbing pain, visible swelling, a broken tooth with an exposed nerve, or any injury to the mouth are all good reasons to call rather than wait.
