How Invisalign Works

Invisalign treatment uses a series of clear plastic trays that gradually move your teeth into place. Our team takes a digital scan of your mouth, and one of our dentists reviews it to create a customized treatment plan. You’ll wear the aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day and switch to a new set every one to two weeks. Treatment usually takes six months to two years, depending on the amount of tooth movement needed.

What Invisalign Can Fix

Invisalign clear aligners can treat crowding, gaps, and mild to moderate overbites, underbites, and crossbites. More complex bite problems may still require traditional braces with metal brackets and wires. We’ll tell you which orthodontic treatment is more likely to work for you. We don’t recommend Invisalign when it isn’t the best fit. We also offer other clear braces options and can explain the differences at your consultation.

Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces

Invisalign trays are removable and much less noticeable than metal braces. You take them out before eating, so you don’t have to avoid sticky or hard foods. Brushing and flossing are also easier because there are no brackets or wires to clean around.

Traditional braces may work better for severe crowding or complex bite problems. Because they stay in place, you don’t have to remember to wear them.

Cost, Insurance, and Financing Options

The cost of Invisalign depends on the length of treatment and the number of aligner trays required. It’s often similar to the cost of traditional braces for the same level of correction. We accept dental insurance with orthodontic benefits and offer financing options that may let you spread out the cost over time.

Common Questions

How much do braces cost in Katy, TX?

It depends on how long treatment takes and how much your teeth need to move. Braces and Invisalign often cost about the same for similar treatment. We’ll give you a personalized estimate after an exam.

How can I pay for Invisalign?

We work with dental insurance and offer financing options, including monthly payment plans that may let you spread out the cost of Invisalign over time.

How many hours a day do I need to wear the trays?

Most people need to wear them for 20 to 22 hours a day and take them out to eat, drink and brush their teeth.

How is Invisalign different from traditional braces?

Invisalign trays are removable and less noticeable, while traditional braces stay fixed to your teeth. Both can straighten your teeth, but the best option depends on your bite and lifestyle. Traditional braces may be better for more complex orthodontic treatment.

What happens at the first consultation?

Dr. Zaharie will examine your teeth and bite to see if you’re a good candidate. She’ll then explain your treatment options and possible timeline.
