Implants

Dental implants are a titanium material that is surgically placed in the jawbone to anchor a replacement tooth. They can be used to replace several missing teeth or just one. The advantages of an implant are that they are similar to a natural tooth in appearance and function and help to prevent bone loss. Disadvantages include the need for surgery and a longer healing period.

Fixed Bridge

A fixed bridge helps to replace several or one missing teeth. They use the support of the surrounding teeth to hold up the new restoration. Advantages of a fixed bridge are that they do not come out and feel like natural teeth. The disadvantages are they do affect the teeth on either side of the missing spot and take more effort to clean underneath.

Removable Partial Denture

A removable partial denture can easily be taken out of the mouth and are attached with the help of a clasp. The advantages of a removable partial denture are they are easy to clean and can replace several missing teeth located in the mouth. However, they are a less permanent and secure option and can lead to bone loss.
